Royal National Lifeboat Institution Memorial Sculpture

The RNLI memorial sculpture is situated in the grounds of the RNLI headquarters in Poole.

Unveiled on 3rd of September 2009 by HRH Duke of Kent. Funded and managed by the RNLI heritage trust.

The Mariners

The Mariners is a bronze, stainless steel and concrete contemporary sculpture on the banks of the Medway at St. Mary's Island, Chatham. It was commissioned to mark the Millennium and to reflect local maritime heritage.

35ft high stainless steel sails turn on a single mast with a 'Jack Tar' bronze figure juxtaposed against a sleek bronze female sailor. The six figure cost of the project was funded entirely by local people and businesses and Sam was instrumental in setting up the Medway Sculpture Trust with local businessmen and Medway MP Bob Marshall-Andrews QC.
